This small antique chair came to us to be recovered. When stripping the old fabric the wood was in need of repair from all the previous coverings it has had. This was filled and left to set so that we could get a good fix. The customer chose a small damask pattern which suits this style of furniture well and trimmed with bronze renaissance studs.
These two lovely chairs were handed down in the family and I was asked to do an assessment on if they were worth doing. We get asked this a lot by customers. We guide people on the quality of the original piece and in this case they were very high quality. Fully sprung seats and backs, beautiful carving on the legs and still strong frames meant that the quality was there. The customers decided to keep them and knew they wanted a plaid fabric, we matched this with a plain pipe to contrast. The seats were resprung as required in the traditional manner using traditional materials and new seat foam in the cushion. We also made a couple of scatter cushions that could also be used on the suite and as the chairs were positioned in the window we made a throw to help reduce UV bleaching.

This 1960’s Sofa Bed required full restoration. The frame had seen some alterations over the years, where springs once stretched between the metal frame base, we found perished Pirelli webbing fixed onto a new wooden frame which had been fixed to the metal at some point. This had worked well so we replaced the webbing and added a new barrier between them and the foam as this had been cut through by the webs. The foam was replaced on the seat and the back and we used the customers own fabric which they supplied. The mechanism was still sound and it creates a really good sofa and bed!
A previous customer called us in to freshen up the bleached covers on his Conservatory Cane Dining Chairs. We also made new covers for his 2 seater cane sofa to match and replaced the seat interior with new foam. The UV light had bleached the old covers so we advised on a light fabric to reduce the obviousness of it happening again. He was concerned about cleaning as dining chairs do get splashed but this fabric, Savona Velvet, is excellent for cleaning. Look at other examples of Conservatory Reupholstery here.

This suite was very unusual with the polished wood frame and we could see why our customers did not want to part with it. Our upholsters always like a challenge and something different to do. The fabric choices by our customer look amazing from the Eleganza II range using 4 different fabrics and trimmed with bronze renaissance studs. New interiors were required throughout. A truly stunning suite.
2 seater sofa recovered in a grey modern fabric. The suite was well made and the customer was happy with the comfort and style but the upholstery had worn and needed updating. The customer had chosen her own scatter cushions to compliment the fabric she had chosen. New seat interiors were supplied as these had become soft and the back cushions were topped up as required.
This classic barley sugar leg drop leaf table needed stripping and repolishing to restore it to its former glory.
These two antique armchairs were brought up to date by upholstering them in a herringbone fabric with a contrast leather pipe and button detail. The polishing work and frames were sound and new interiors in the seat were required.
