A conservatory suite we recovered in an ivory flat weave fabric. Hopefully the sun bleaching won’t show up on this! By choosing paler colours the inevitable bleaching will not be as apparent over time. Many more years of service for this cane suite now the covers have been remade with new interiors. We can also reweb the bases if these have become slack or torn with use and time.

We all now that UV light can bleach materials but it also perishes the fabric and makes it go thin and brittle over time. We will carefully handle the covers so we can get accurate templates for the new covers. This customer chose a bold floral pattern with a mainly cream/off white background so the bleaching wasn’t as apparent. We often make a throw for customers to cover the furniture when not in use to try and reduce the damage in the future.

A previous customer called us in to freshen up the bleached covers on his Conservatory Cane Dining Chairs. We also made new covers for his 2 seater cane sofa to match and replaced the seat interior with new foam. The UV light had bleached the old covers so we advised on a light fabric to reduce the obviousness of it happening again. He was concerned about cleaning as dining chairs do get splashed but this fabric, Savona Velvet, is excellent for cleaning. Look at other examples of Conservatory Reupholstery here.
